Santa Monica State Beach is one of the most lively beaches in Southern California. Two miles of beautiful scenery and fun in the sun, it is considered one the ultimate employee picnic locations and a prime piece of the Southern California coastline. It's two miles long filled with picnic areas, shops and the world famous Santa Monica Pier. There are also volleyball courts (a few feet from the pier), chess tables and a Carousel. Directly south of the volleyball courts is muscle beach with an amazing facility for practicing gymnasts with chinning bars, parallel bars, rings, small jungle gyms and more.
